The cross-table lateral projection in femur radiography plays a crucial role in diagnosing lower limb trauma, particularly in critically ill patients who cannot be optimally repositioned. The main challenge in this procedure is maintaining limb stability to achieve optimal image quality while avoiding repeat exposures. Various fixation device innovations have been developed to enhance patient comfort, examination efficiency, and image quality. This study is a systematic literature review conducted using the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, with literature searches performed in PubMed, SpringerLink, and Google Scholar. Keywords included fixation device, cross-table lateral femur radiography, and trauma imaging. Out of 250 identified articles, 35 met the inclusion criteria and were thematically analyzed based on innovation type, design, materials, and clinical effectiveness. Results indicate innovation trends such as portable designs, adjustable modular systems, and the use of lightweight materials like aluminum and velcro straps. Clinically, these devices effectively reduce examination time, improve positional stability, enhance image quality, and minimize operator radiation exposure. Body weight shows an inverse relationship of one-to-one with contrast enhancement. Body weight shows an inverse relationship of one-to-one with contrast enhancement. Body weight affects the level of enhancement in the vascular and parenchymal areas. Contrast media is more dilute when administered to patients with larger blood volumes and higher body weights compared to thinner patients. This results in reduced contrast concentration in the blood and lower contrast enhancement. This study aims to analyze the relationship between body weight and liver enhancement in 3-phase abdominal CT scans with clinical hepatocellular carcinoma. The study design is an analytical quantitative study using Pearson's correlation test on the average HU values of the liver from three body weight groups. The study was conducted at Persahabatan Hospital from January to May 2024 with 30 samples using purposive sampling. The results showed that the hepatic enhancement value with p-value 0.000 and r-value -0.612 for the arterial phase and p-value 0.000 and r-value -0.629 for venous phase. Conclusion: Body weight is inversely related to hepatic enhancement.

X-ray radiation plays a vital role in medical diagnostics but carries potential risks for both patients and healthcare workers. This study evaluates the effectiveness of cassava starch–based bioplastic combined with lead acetate as an absorber of radiation dose during femur radiographic examinations. The tests were performed using Anteroposterior (AP) and Lateral projections with both portrait and diagonal detector positions. Image processing applied the Gaussian High Pass Filter (GHPF) method at cut-off frequencies of 5, 10, and 15 Hz. Image quality was analyzed through Contrast to Noise Ratio (CNR) and Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR). Results showed that the use of bioplastic slightly decreased CNR and PSNR values compared to examinations without bioplastic; however, the quality remained within acceptable diagnostic standards. For example, in AP diagonal projection at 5 Hz, CNR reached 22.86 (with bioplastic) versus 21.95 (without), while PSNR values were 11.1 and 11.6, respectively. Increased Mean Square Error (MSE) values confirmed radiation attenuation, supporting effective shielding. Optimal image quality occurred at 5–10 Hz cut-offs, while 15 Hz produced misleading impressions of osteoporosis. Overall, lead-based bioplastic effectively reduces radiation dose while preserving diagnostic value, offering a safer and eco-friendly alternative in radiographic imaging.

https://jurnal.politeknikalislam.ac.id/index.php/jutek/article/view/232

In Indonesia, there are many types of wood with potential as radiation shielding materials—specifically, woods possessing a certain degree of hardness that could serve as substitutes for lead (Pb). Bulian wood (Eusideroxylon zwageri), also known as ironwood, is one of the most well-known and strongest species in its native habitat, the Sumatran forest. It is highly durable, resistant to termite and boring insect attacks, impervious to fluctuations in humidity and temperature, and even resistant to seawater. Research into the radiation absorption capacity of Bulian wood is therefore highly necessary, particularly to explore its viability as a substitute for lead metal in radiation shielding applications. This study aims to examine the absorption capacity of Bulian wood with varying thicknesses, which is then analyzed in terms of its density equivalence on film compared to lead sheet objects. The research is quantitative and utilizes an experimental method. It was conducted in the radiography laboratory of the Faculty of Vocational Studies, Baiturrahmah University. The research sample consists of film density measurements at each thickness variation of Bulian wood, corresponding to each level on the step wedge. Data were processed using bivariate analysis.

Down's syndrome is a chromosomal abnormality of the 21st chromosome pair that affects hundreds of genes, including those coding for amyloid proteins in the brain. This protein can trigger the activation of microglia, which damage nerve cells. Children with Down's syndrome often have speech delays and language development that is not age-appropriate and does not match their intelligence. Vocabulary enrichment is very important for children with Down's syndrome, as they tend to have a limited vocabulary and difficulty understanding and using new words. By expanding their vocabulary, these children can more easily understand the relationship between words and their meanings, which will help them communicate more effectively and improve their general cognitive abilities. In this study, the Northwestern Syntax Screening Test developed by Laura L. Lee and adapted by Rozella J. Sutasdisastra, M.S., CCC-LP was used. .
