Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a condition that causes motor impairments and often involves difficulties with speech, language, and social communication. Children with mild CP generally retain verbal abilities, but limited articulation clarity can lead to misunderstandings, frustration, and reduced participation in social interactions. This community service program aims to support functional communication in a child with mild CP by using a Communication Book as a low-tech Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) tool that utilises symbols and pictures. The program was implemented through an initial assessment, a pre-test, education and demonstration, supervised practice, and a post-test, with parental involvement at every stage. Evaluation was conducted by comparing pre-test and post-test results in the areas of receptive language, expressive language, and understanding of the need for AAC. The results showed improvement in all aspects: receptive language increased from 12/16 (75.00%) to 16/16 (100.00%), expressive language increased from 10/16 (62.50%) to 13/16 (81.25%), and understanding of the need for AAC increased from 14/20 (70.00%) to 18/20 (90.00%). Observations showed that the child became increasingly independent in selecting symbols to convey basic needs and respond to simple questions.
